Our floor repair service fixes damaged sections of hardwood, laminate, vinyl plank and tile without replacing the whole room. A leaking dishwasher, a pet accident or an old water heater can ruin a few square feet of flooring; we cut out the bad area, repair the subfloor if needed and weave in new material so the patch is hard to spot.
Older St. Petersburg bungalows often have original pine or oak floors over a raised wood frame, and moisture from below is a common culprit. When we open a floor we check the subfloor and joists for rot or termite damage before laying anything new, so the repair does not fail again a year later.
Spot repair instead of a full replacement
Replacing an entire floor because of one damaged area is expensive and often unnecessary. With careful board selection, staggered seams and matching stain or finish, a partial repair can blend into the existing floor and saves the cost of tearing out rooms that are still in good shape.
hardwood floor repair
Damaged boards cut out and laced in, then sanded, stained and finished to match.
laminate and tile repair
Swollen planks swapped, cracked tiles replaced and grout restored.
Common floor problems we fix
Most floor repair calls we get in Pinellas County fall into one of these categories:
- water-damaged or cupped hardwood boards
- swollen, peaking or separated laminate planks
- cracked or hollow-sounding floor tiles
- soft spots and squeaks from a failing subfloor
Finding a match for older flooring
Many homes built before the 1960s have narrow strip oak or heart pine that is no longer sold at big-box stores. We source reclaimed or salvaged boards when possible, or borrow boards from inside a closet and replace those with new stock where nobody will see them.
For laminate and vinyl plank, we ask whether you kept leftover boxes from the original install. Matching the exact product line makes the repair invisible; if it is discontinued, we look for the closest color and texture and talk through the result before cutting.

Yes. We cut out damaged boards and lace in new ones with staggered joints, then sand and finish the area to blend with the rest of the floor.
Small repairs of a few boards or tiles typically cost $300 to $700. Subfloor rot, larger water damage or refinishing an entire room are quoted after we see it.
We install laminate, vinyl plank and replacement hardwood in single rooms and small areas. For whole-house installs we can recommend a dedicated flooring contractor.
Usually moisture from a leak or missing expansion gaps along the walls. We fix the cause, then replace the affected planks.
